The 2009 Colorado Trail 550
AN ENDURANCE ODYSSEY FROM LITTLETON TO DURANGO TO RAISE FUNDS FOR
When: August 2, 2009
Who: TOM JENSEN and STEVE STALGREN
What is the race? A grueling 550 mile self supported solo mountain bike race that follows the
Colorado Trail from its start in Waterton Canyon, south of Li leton, all the way to Durango. This race only has
two rules: no outside assistance and get to the fi nish!
Why raise money for RAMSTRONG? In the summer of 2008, Tom’s sister, Kristin, was diagnosed
with breast cancer. She underwent a major lumpectomy to remove the tumor. Christmas 2008 brought more
bad news for the family. Tom’s father, Bruce, already a prostate cancer survivor, told the family that he has
leukemia.
We are committed to use cycling to help fight cancer in our community!
What is RAMSTRONG? RAMSTRONG helps cancer survivors and their families pay for basic needs
such as mortgage/rent payments, car payments and unforeseen auto repairs, monthly bills for utilities and
groceries, transportation to and from chemotherapy appointments, medical insurance premiums,
prescription or lab co-pays, wigs and prosthetics, and clothes a er mastectomy. For more information, visit
www.ramstrong.org
What is the goal? By the start of the race, we hope to have raised enough money to make $100 for
each mile we ride. That’s $55,000! Imagine the lives that can be changed with that kind of donation
to RAMSTRONG!

NEW SPONSORS
Alright! Things are really rolling now with the addition of two awesome new companies who are helping us out! First, we would like to thank Dan Bartran of Bartran Homes who has agreed to foot the bill for our new uniforms! We are going to get some beautiful clothes made up through Pactimo. Also we have Toolboxcreative on board to donate their time and talents to putting together a logo and design package for us! Look for a sweet stylish look to the the whole business here in about a month or so!
Steve has a new coaching business and I am relying on him to get me ready. If you need a great coach at a reasonable price contact steve at 303-774-8110

Alright friends and supporters!!! We have our first OFFICIAL pledge of $250 from a beautiful client of mine Miss Patricia Throgmorton! So we are now COMMITTED! WE have also made some movement on the bike sponsorship thanks to Rick at BikenHike in Longmont! Looks like Trek/Gary Fisher may be ON BOARD! Rick is and he is a awesome force in the Boulder County bike scene so keep your fingers crossed We are talking to Pactimo about uniforms too so keep you eye out for those. Our big meeting with the RAMSTRONG board is on Tuesday the 17th at 4:00pm at Zaquil's on Harmony. We will learn a lot about the support we can expect from the RAMSTRONG folks in reaching our 55,000 goal. Still looking for any Word from LIVESTRONG as to their willingness to support us or not. That's all for now! KEEP RIDING for the cause!
